If you already have solar panels, the inverter determines how the battery is connected. A hybrid inverter can often control the battery directly; with a regular (string) inverter or micro-inverters, the battery is coupled to the system via its own battery inverter (AC coupling). The installer connects everything, configures the controls and tests that charging and discharging do what they should.

For the coupling work you pay € 350 to € 900, depending on your inverter and the wiring. If the battery purchase and the coupling go into one job, choose the complete installation — that work is already included there.

To be clear: this is purely the coupling work on what is already in place. Installing new solar panels is a different trade and falls outside this site.
